Martin Kaltenbrunner

Born 1972, Martin Kaltenbrunner is professor of Tangible Interaction Design, head of the Tangible Music Lab and director of the Postdigital Lutherie master’s programme at the Institute of Media Studies at the University of Art and Design Linz.Before his return to Austria, he worked as a researcher and lecturer at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona as well as other European institutions, including the MIT Medialab Europe in Dublin. As co-founder of Reactable Systems, he has been working mainly on the interaction design concepts behind the Reactable electronic musical instrument, which was awarded a Golden Nica for Digital Music at the Prix Ars Electronica in 2008. This instrument provided the framework for his present artistic-research practice, which is applying tangible interaction design methods to post-digital lutherie.He received a Doctorate in Engineering from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, and his technical developments in the field of Tangible User Interfaces have been employed for the realisation of numerous artistic and scientific projects.https://modin.yuri.at/
