Enrique Tomás

Born in 1981, Enrique Tomás is a sound artist and post-doc researcher who dedicates his time to finding new ways of expression and playing with sound, art and technology. His work explores the intersection between sound art, computer music, locative media and human-machine interaction. As an individual artist, Tomás’ activity is centred around ultranoise.es and focuses on performances and installations with extreme and immersive sounds and environments. He has exhibited and performed in spaces at the Ars Electronica, Sonar, CTM, IRCAM, IEM, KUMU, SMAK, NOVARS, STEIM, Steirischer Herbst, Alte Schmiede, etc., and in galleries and institutions throughout Europe and Latin America. His artistic work has won and been supported with scholarships from Telefónica Vida, Phonos Foundation, the Academy of Fine Arts of Vienna and the Art Council of Madrid. He is affiliated with the Tangible Music Lab at the University of Art and Design Linz, and his research has been presented at such international peer-reviewed conferences as NIME, ICMC, SMC, TEI and TENOR.https://tamlab.ufg.at/team/enrique-tomas/
