BI-Bib

Library of Citizens' Initiatives

With the project "BI-Bib" we intend to implement an internet platform for networking activists in the mobility and environmental sector and their mostly localised struggles. The central tool is an interactive map that shows initiatives, activities and resources and thus offers support both for politically interested people who want to get a first overview of where they can get involved and for already active people who are looking for support in carrying out their activities and striving for alliances with other groups.

MOBIREG

Mobility Regional Thinking

The project is dedicated to the establishment of an innovation laboratory in the Carinthia region, with a focus on the mission fields of "mobilising and sustainably connecting rural areas" and "developing environmentally friendly transport technologies". New mobility-relevant solutions and implementation contributions are to be developed with various partners from science and research and local and regional problems, challenges and potentials are to be included in the entire planning process. Innovative solutions will be developed in a practical context in order to increase acceptance and transparency. By networking mobility-relevant actors from civil society, research, business, administration and politics, an efficient and faster transfer of knowledge and innovation (monitoring, interface management) is to be ensured.

CargoPV+

Express shipment of goods using passenger rail transport

The aim of the CargoPV+ project is to develop a novel system for express shipments that is compatible with current and future requirements and framework conditions, using dense passenger rail transport. Existing, regular services as well as high speeds over longer distances are to be used synergistically and climate neutrally for the transport of (time-sensitive) shipments. Based on existing knowledge and knowledge to be further deepened on the needs and requirements of potential customers and on technical and operational framework conditions, an overall system consisting of an operator model, the transfer points, the first and last mile, the secured transport area in the train and all relevant (IT) interfaces will be developed and tested in the project. The focus is on mandatory solutions that enable secure and reliable transport and comply with all requirements of railway operations (punctuality, safety, etc.).

Collaboration_City

Co-creation and green finance methods for effective and rapid implementation of nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation in cities

COLLABORATION CITY is the Viennese development project for the implementation of climate-friendly neighbourhoods in Europe. It vertically connects the EU's Green Deal and the city's climate strategy goals with the living environment of the people in the neighbourhood; horizontally, the fields of action planning - mobility - governance/participation - financing and communication are brought to climate-relevant action in a co-creative process. Through the structural integration of a new umbrella organisation to be created, new financing models from public and private sources will be set in motion; through local district support organisations, the people on the ground will be actively involved and their participation will be valued. The built urban space is cooled down, space for more green and people is created, the mobility turnaround is promoted, CO2 is reduced, jobs are created, neighbourhoods are comprehensively developed and led into the future together with the population. The new process design of COLLABORATION CITY aims at a timely scaling and implementation across Europe.

Station4All

Integration of public transport stations into the routines of daily life to strengthen equal mobility

In order to achieve the environmental policy goals of increasing the use of public transport, all stages of the route chain must meet people's requirements in the best possible way. Public transport stations in peripheral rural areas are often rudimentarily equipped and do not fully reflect mobility needs. In particular, requirements from the perspective of gender & diversity are inevitably insufficiently considered and hardly take into account the different reasons why mobility needs arise in the first place. In order to increase the attractiveness and use of public transport, measures are being designed in the project that enable the best possible integration of public transport stations into the routines of daily life while at the same time strengthening structurally weak regions, taking into account the different needs of people.
