About me

I finished my bachelor’s degree in power mechanical engineering at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. In 2018 I began with my master study in Computational mechanics at the university of Stuttgart in Germany. The master program concentrates on the fundamentals of finite element method (FEM) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The master thesis focused on the biomechanical modelling of the tongue muscles during sound production. Thereupon I developed a nonlinear anisotropic hyperelastic material model, in order to describe the mechanical behavior of tongue muscles. The tongue deformation during sound production is simulated through the CAE software Abaqus/Explicit. In addition, I also participated in several interdisciplinary projects such as multiphase modelling and multi-physic simulation of coupled problems.

Research

At the moment I am research assistant at TU Wien and specialize in numerical modelling of collagen fibrils. The corresponding material properties are influenced by the hydration level and cross-linking. The aim of this research is to develop a rate-dependent hypoelastic model for individual collagen fibrils. Accordingly, the one-dimensional experimental data from Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) are translated into a three-dimensional constitutive model within the framework of continuum mechanics. The material model will be further refined with the consideration of hydration level and cross-linking.
