Lab Opening Biomechanics

The laboratories for biomechanics & computer-assisted biomechanics have been in operation in the BF building for about a year. To provide an insight into our research and the laboratories as well as to celebrate our start at the new location, we invited to our laboratory opening on November 19, 2025.

BAANG – Demonstrator

The international project BAANG - Building Actions in Smart Aviation with Environmental Gains has now come to an end by exhibiting its scientific result - a morphing wing demonstrator - at the International Industrial Fair in Brno. The project was focusing on research in the field of so-called smart aviation under the lead of the Brno University of Technology (BUT) and brought together the expertise of BUT, TU Delft, Imperial College London, and TU Wien.

The chosen route, spanning approximately 14 kilometers, promised a day filled with breathtaking landscapes and culinary delights.

TU Wien excursion to SGL Composites GmbH and FACC AG

A joint excursion of the Institute of Lightweight Structures and Structural Biomechanics and the Aircraft Systems Research Group of the Institute of Engineering Design and Product Development to SGL Composites GmbH and FACC AG in the Innviertel region took place on September 28th. The students, who have already completed courses in lightweight construction/composites as well as aircraft design and aircraft systems engineering, gained an insight into the production and working environment of renowned and internationally successful companies.
