Gesa Witthöft

Gesa Witthöft, born in 1964, is a senior scientist in the Sociology Research Unit at the Institute of Spatial Planning at TU Wien. She has an interdisciplinary background in urban development/urban planning, geography, German studies, education and social sciences. After working in urban renewal and urban development and completing her doctorate on socially oriented urban development (2008), she now researches, consults and teaches on urban renewal, inner-city development, participation, social inequality and gender in planning and architecture.
