To spark a lasting enthusiasm for the natural sciences and set the stage for the next generation of chemists, we launched the “Roadshow TCH” project. We want to show that chemistry is much more than just formulas on a blackboard—it is the key to solving global problems and driving tomorrow’s innovations.

The program was designed specifically to meet the needs and interests of students starting in the 3rd year of upper secondary school at an AHS or HTL.

The most important points at a glance:

  • Duration & Scope: A performance lasts two school hours. We offer two performances per day, each for two school classes (a maximum of 50 students per performance).
  • Costs: Participation in this project organized by the Faculty of Technical Chemistry is free of charge.
  • Place: We warmly invite schools in Vienna to visit us with their classes at the Getreidemarkt campus. In Lower Austria and Burgenland, we’ll bring all our equipment directly to your school. 

What your students can expect: A thrilling journey through the world of research! We combine classic experiments with the latest findings from the Faculty of Technical Chemistry. 

  • Focus on Sustainability: We demonstrate how chemistry makes a decisive contribution to addressing global challenges such as climate protection and resource conservation.
  • Career Guidance & Knowledge Transfer: In addition to the hands-on focus—which has been shown to increase interest in STEM subjects—we offer insights into career paths in the chemical industry and direct Q&A sessions with faculty and students at TU Wien. 

Organizational details for presentations at your school: All we need on site is a standard classroom or an auditorium where all participating students can have a seat.
