Resilient Broadcast Authentication in IoT devices

The Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow and improve our everyday life. However, the convenience brought by IoT does not go unchallenged. Safety and security issues in IoT have the potential to affect our lives. An essential part of a safe and secure network in IoT is authentication. Broadcast authentication enables one source to send messages to many nodes securely. The resource-constraint nature of IoT devices poses significant challenges to classic designs, demanding research for new methods to improve effciency and reliability without decreasing security.
This dissertation aims to address some of the existential challenges within state-of-the-art broadcast authentication schemes by designing a novel, verifiable, and resilient protocol for broadcast authentication in IoT. We intend to follow proven methodologies in the literature that we will discuss in this proposal.
