Our monthly YIA Coffee is an opportunity for networking with other YIA members and learning about services of the faculty and the university that help your teaching and research.

YIA meets TCH Joint Workshop

The TCH Joint Workshop supports TCH researchers with repair of instrumentation and lab equipment and with designing and manufacturing custom parts and devices. Workshop manager Jo Frank talked to us about projects that the workshop realized in the past and how the workshops’s support for researchers is organized. A tour through the workshop and all its tools closed out this YIA coffee.

YIA meets TUW dataLab

TUW dataLab is part of Campus IT. Their mission is to implement services and tools for research and teaching. dataLab provides compute for AI/ML, virtual machines, JupyterHub (online computing notebooks) and runs LLM models (think ChatGPT/Copilot  but fully inside TUW).

The dataLab team brought demo and show case projects including the recent Cookbook project for interactive, computational teaching and an AI integration for molecular dynamics.
