Open position (m/f/d) Manager of the hydrological open-air laboratory in Petzenkirchen, Lower Austria

We are looking for:

A manager of the hydrological open-air laboratory of the TU Wien. The position at the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management is to be filled as soon as possible for 1 year + 2 years extension (40 hours per week). The workplace is the Institute for Cultural Engineering and Soil Water Management at the BAW in Petzenkirchen, Lower Austria.

Your responsibilities:

  • Technical support for sensors, sampling, assisting students with experiments
  • Planning and organizing field experiments/work
  • IT/network/data management
  • Data processing and quality control
  • Optional: preparation of a scientific publication
  • Collaboration with farmers

Your profile:

  • Master's or diploma degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, agricultural engineering, or an equivalent university degree in natural sciences from Austria or abroad
  • Alternatively: HTL degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or comparable qualification
  • Experience with hydrometric measuring devices is an advantage
  • Programming skills are an advantage
  • Regionality (Scheibbs district) is an advantage
  • Willingness to work in a team, reliability, problem-solving orientation
  • Driver's license B required
  • Excellent language skills in German

Remuneration is based on education. For university graduates, the minimum salary corresponds to salary group B1 in accordance with the collective agreement for university employees and currently amounts to EUR 3,7776.10 gross/month (14x per year) for a 40-hour working week. Previous work experience relevant to the position can be taken into account.
