Info
Clémence is a engineer from the Grande École École Centrale de Nantes (France) and holds a master’s degree in materials science from TU Wien. In 2019, she completed her doctorate at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT, Germany) at the Institute for Applied Materials, Materials and Biomechanics, where she conducted research on the micromechanics of heterogeneous materials. She subsequently gained several years of experience at Smart Minerals GmbH in Vienna in applied research and quality assurance of concrete- and cement-based materials, with a particular focus on curing, durability, and shrinkage behavior.
Clémence is currently working on the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project “AlgoLoam” (EIC, Grant Agreement ID: 101161620), supported by the European Union. The project focuses on the physical and mechanical characterization of materials for the development of a lightweight, self-supporting partition wall made of loam with a plant-based 3D reinforcement. Further information about the project can be found at www.algoloam.com.
Her current research interests include the mechanical characterization of plant-based fiber products, textiles, loam, and composite materials made from these components. A particular focus lies on the influence of moisture as well as on digital measurement methods for detecting and analyzing deformation.
