Since 2020, Liste ZUG is part of the Works Council of TU Vienna and puts forward the following claims and standpoints:
- Perspectives for Junior Scientists:
- A fair handling of the regulation of success contracting (Kettenvertragsregelung) until all current proceedings regarding the new regulations within the framework of the new University Law (UG) are concluded
- Upgrading and better promotion of attractive and reasonable advanced educational training. For instance, innovative didactics, writing retreats dedicated to scientific text production, workshops dedicated to the conceptualization of scientific proposals and scientific projects, enhancement of digital competences, etc.
- Upgrading and better promotion of participation in international conferences and of research visits abroad
- Instigation of mentoring programmes in order to enhance the scientific exchange within TU Vienna
- Appropriate Home-Office-Regulations
- Regulations should provide for the flexibility of scientific research including the following issues:
- Home-Office-Regulations must guarantee:
- The right to work at locations apart from the immediate home (i.e., Co-Working-Spaces, Cafés, Public Space, in the own flat, in the partner´s flat, etc.)
- Provision and support regarding the installation of necessary equipment by TU Vienna
- Clarification of liability with regard to the use of infrastructure provided by TU Vienna (i.e., Laptop, Headsets, etc.)
- Support with regard to the installation and design of private work spaces – including financial support if additional equipment has to be purchased!
- Taking into account existing flexible working hours – among other things with regard to legal issues in case of a work accident / accidents during working hours
- No enforcement of Home Office / No enforcement of presence in the office!
- Transparent Information
- Timely and transparent information regarding all work-relevant issues for all employees (i.e., including third-party funded employees)
- Launch of a timely and informative website of TU Works Council: Pooling of the currently quite scattered information in one accessible and “searchable” web-platform
- Regular updates from the Works Council for employees via appropriate and easily accessible “service-tools” (i.e., Social Media, website, etc.)
- Incentives / Activation of young employees to engage in higher education policy
- Comprehensible communication of the structure of the university-administration and its political apparatus
- Communication of possibilities to engage, co-create and participate in decision making processes for young employees as crucial part of university policies
- Incentives for further networking in order to encourage young employees to engage in university-political issues and committee
- fuTUre Activities – Incentives to foster Co-Working and Liveability at TU Vienna
- Focus bicycle: more bicycle stands at every institute, sharing of cargo bikes, repair services and DIY-opportunities to repair bicycles, affordable bicycles for students and employees (see “BOKU-bikes”)
- Sustainability and health: promotion of Foodcoops, sport activities, etc.
- Possibilities for further bottom-up and DIY-initiatives, because…
