Renewable Energy Talk - Photovoltaics for Energy Communities

The Renewable Energy Talks serve to discuss recent topics and trends in the renewable energy sector with experts in their respective fields. They also are great events for networking and getting to know fellow students and alumni of the MSc Renewable Energy Systems.

Photovoltaics for Energy Communities

with contributions from:

  • Ulfert Höhne - (
  • Hans Auer - TU Wien, Head of The Energy Markets and Regulation Group

In recent years the idea of Energy communities has been strongly supported by the European Union. The core idea is to include consumers in their energy supply, especially with respect to electricity and to make the whole system more democratic. One major technology in this context is Photovoltaics as it can be used in every possible size (even very small plants are available) and it can be placed almost everywhere in the built environment.

In this REN Talk experts will discuss the future prospects and impediments for decentralized Photovoltaic systems.
The talk is chaired by Academic Director Reinhard Haas (TU Wien).
