Awards:

In 2015 he was awarded the Fritz-Grasenick-Preis by the Austrian Society of Electron Microscopy (ASEM) for the Ultramicroscopy publication “Peculiar Rotation of Electron Vortex Beams”.

In 2017 he was awarded the Theodor-Körner-Preis by the Theodor Körner Fonds for his dissertation project, “Magnetic chiral dichroism measurements with nanometre resolution using a vortex filter”.

He is married and the father of four wonderful children. Aside from his scientific interests and the challenges at USTEM he is a gifted tinkerer as well as a passionate cyclist.
