The active participation of students is an integral part of the digitalisation projects at TU Wien. In the process, the multi-layered perspectives of students are bundled and comprehensive solutions that sustainably improve everyday student life are developed. The .digital office team uses a variety of formats in which students are interviewed about current projects and trends, or are called upon to develop new project ideas - from idea competitions to workshops to surveys.

Student Life Hacks

"Digital solutions by students for students, adapted to the everyday life of students" is the motto of the idea competitions - the Student Life Hacks. The idea competitions challenge the creativity of the students. Problems are highlighted by students and provided with suitable digital solutions in their proposals.

Each competition is a multi-stage process with the aim of finding sustainable improvements for students. All TU Wien students are invited to submit their ideas, followed by a feasibility check by the .digital office and the selection of the top projects by a jury of experts. The implementation is the responsibility of dedicated student project teams who, under the supervision of the .digital office, develop comprehensive solutions. In so doing, the students become project leaders, employees and shapers who are actively involved in the digital transformation.

Workshops and Surveys

In the projects, the focus is directed from the individual to the entire student body of TU Wien. This is achieved through workshops and surveys in which different views are collected. For the project teams, this results in a change of perspective, which is a fixed component in all projects, so that the original idea becomes a comprehensive solution for everyone.

New ideas are always in demand, which is why there is an idea box. If students have a digital solution for improving everyday student life at TU Wien, they can submit it to the idea box at any time. With just a few clicks, they can submit their idea to the .digital office and also rate ideas that have already been entered.
