Associate Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Florian Toth, opens an external URL in a new window has been affiliated with the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics (E325) at the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of the TU Wien as an Associate Professor of Modeling and Simulation of Mechatronic Systems since December 1, 2025.

CV: Florian Toth studied mechanical engineering at TU Wien where he graduated with honors as a Diplom-Ingenieur in 2010 and earned his Dr. techn. degree, also with honors, in 2014 with a dissertation on “Static and dynamic modeling of lightweight floating platforms supported by flexible air chambers, opens an external URL in a new window.” Following research stays at KTH Stockholm and the University of Strathclyde, as well as subsequent postdoctoral positions at TU Wien, he accepted a tenure track position as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics at TU Wien in 2021, which he has now successfully completed by qualifying as an Associate Professor.

Florian Toth’s scientific home is the Measurement Technology and Actuation Research Group (E325-03) at the aforementioned institute. His research focuses on modeling and simulation methods for coupled multiphysical systems, particularly in the areas of vibroacoustics, electromagnetic-thermal-mechanical coupling, and finite element methods.
