Georg Raffael Pesch, opens an external URL in a new window has been appointed University Professor for Environmental and Particle Process Engineering at TU Wien with effect from September 1, 2025. He is assigned to the Institute of Process Engineering, Environmental Technology and Technical Biosciences (E166) of the Faculty of Technical Chemistry.

CV: Georg Pesch comes from Germany and studied production engineering with a focus on process engineering at the University of Bremen, where he obtained his master's degree in 2013. For his master's thesis, he was awarded the 2014 Bremen Study Prize for the best thesis in the natural sciences and engineering. He then went on to earn his doctorate summa cum laude in 2018, also at the University of Bremen, with a dissertation on “On the dielectrophoretic particle retention in porous media, opens an external URL in a new window,” which was again awarded the 2018 Bremen Study Prize—this time for the best dissertation. He then headed the research group for reaction engineering and particle separation at the University of Bremen until 2022, during which time he completed a research stay as a postdoctoral research fellow at TU Delft from 2019 to 2020. Since July 2022, he has been an assistant professor at University College Dublin.

His scientific home is the Research Group Particle Technology, Recycling Technology, and Technology Assessment (E166-01-1).
