The Lumina Fund aims to specifically support excellent research and innovative projects with high scientific, technological, and societal relevance.

In the following years, an annual call will be issued each March with a changing thematic focus, setting different priorities. This makes it possible to support projects from a variety of fields each year and to respond in a targeted manner to current challenges as well as emerging developments in science and society.

Eligible applicants are exclusively persons appointed at TU Wien in accordance with Section 99 (5) of the Austrian Universities Act (UG).

An active employment relationship at the time of application and for the entire duration of the requested funding period is required.

The maximum project duration is up to two years.

The maximum project volume is €200,000, including 10% indirect project costs.

The selection process is multi-stage and consists of a formal review, the longlist, the shortlist, and a selection step through a project pitch.
