TYPO3 Upgrade from December 13 to 17, 2020

The upgrade of our TYPO3 Backend from Version 8 to Version 10 will take place between December 13 and 17, 2020. The Frontend is not affected by this upgrade.

Maintenance

The upgrade has the following 3 effects:

1. Backend

To ensure the consistency of the data, the backend will be locked for four days in the evening from Sunday, December 13, 2020 on for all editors and thus not accessible for you. If you need to make time-critical changes during this period, please contact us in advance at relaunch@tuwien.ac.at.

2. TYPO3 manual

After the TYPO3 upgrade, the manual will be adapted to the new version. In the course of this, the manual will be moved to coLab, because there are some functionalities that are not available in the standard Wiki. As soon as the manual is ready for you to use, you will receive all the information you need.

3. Online Courses

With the manual also the TUWEL courses have to be updated:

Effective writing on the web for TYPO3 editors: This training can still be done online.
TYPO3 Basics: This course is temporarily discontinued. After the corresponding pages in the manual and the TUWEL course have been revised, the course will be released again. This will be announced in the newsletter and on the homepage.
TYPO3 Advanced: This course will also be available online after the TYPO3 upgrade. More detailed information will follow in the coming newsletters.
