Wiener Linien currently recommends avoiding public transportation as much as possible during the restricted operation due to the flood situation. At https://www.wienerlinien.at/betriebsinfo, opens an external URL in a new window you will find up-to-date information on restrictions on the lines. Please pass this information on to your employees, team members and colleagues as soon as possible!

Home office as an option

At workplaces where there are no official concerns that prevent the university from operating properly, the option of working from home should be given on days with an acute weather situation. This option is to be agreed with the supervisor and the employee.

Labor law information on the flood situation

If you or your employees are unable to reach your workplace due to the very tense flood situation or are unable to reach it on time (e.g. due to weather-related delays in public transport), this constitutes a reason for absence from work. Please inform your supervisor immediately (e.g., by telephone) that you will not be able to come to work on time!

Deployment as a member of a voluntary emergency organization due to a major incident

If you or an employee are unable to work due to deployment as a volunteer member of a blue light organization (e.g., volunteer fire department) or a disaster relief organization in the event of a major incident, you are entitled to continued remuneration, but only if this has been agreed with the employer. Please inform your supervisor and the personnel administration that you are on duty. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all emergency personnel and volunteers for their work!

Teaching

We are not yet in full teaching mode, therefore we ask you to arrange any individually agreed teaching/examination dates bilaterally with students or examination candidates and, if necessary, to organize a postponement due to the general conditions described above.

Thank you very much for your help and best regards,
The Rectorate
