The research project ‘Who owns Vienna?’, led by Selim Banabak, was launched at the beginning of November. Funded by the Arbeiterkammer Wien, the project examines the sometimes complex ownership structures on the Viennese residential property market and is intended to support evidence-based housing policy and serve as a basis for further scientific research projects. Based on land register, company and development data, an overall picture of the ownership structure on the Viennese housing market, its concentration and spatial structure is to be determined. The project will run until October 2025 and is being carried out together with colleagues from the Research Unit Finanzwissenschaft und Infrastrukturpolitik.
