Pre-Conference Events

On August 27, the conference began with a successful Doctoral Workshop on "Advances in Manufacturing and Logistics Management and Control Problems," led by Prof. Fabio Sgarbossa (NTNU Trondheim) and Prof. Marco Macchi (Politecnico di Milano). The day concluded with a Welcome Reception at TUtheSky under perfect weather conditions.

Day 1: Opening and Keynotes

The first day opened with welcome remarks from the NOC Chairs, Prof. Fazel Ansari and Prof. Sebastian Schlund, followed by a video message from Leonore Gewessler, Austria's Federal Minister for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology. Prof. Jens Schneider, Rector of TU Wien, also delivered an inspiring welcome speech. A highlight of the day was the keynote by Prof. Torbjørn Netland from ETH Zürich on "Augmented Intelligence for Next-Level Manufacturing Excellence." With 118 research contributions presented across seven parallel sessions, the day set high standards for discussions and knowledge exchange.

Day 2: Focus on Digital Transformation and Sustainability

The second day featured a keynote by Prof. Dmitry Ivanov (HTW Berlin) on "The Future of Supply Chain Simulation and Digital Twins," followed by a panel discussion, including a keynote on "Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing" by Caroline Viarouge, CEO of EIT Manufacturing, and other participants from industry and academia. The day concluded with a Gala Dinner at the Hotel InterContinental, opened by Prof. Peter Ertl, Vice-Rector of TU Wien, featuring a keynote by Prof. Alexandre Dolgui (IMT Atlantique) on the history of the IFAC INCOM Symposium.

Day 3: Final Discussions and Awards

The final day began with a keynote by TU Wien Professor Andreas Kugi on "Advanced Control for Sustainable Autonomous Manufacturing" and continued with a panel discussion on resilient supply chains, followed by the final technical sessions. The Closing and Awards Ceremony recognized outstanding contributions, including Ryan O’Neil (Dalhousie University) for the Young Author Award, Victória Melo (CeDRI) for the Best Paper Award, and Jannick Fiedler (ETH Zürich) for the Best PhD Research Proposal.
