Love Data Week is an international celebration of data, aiming to build a community to engage on topics related to the management, sharing, preservation and reuse of research data, and library-based research data services.
From 08 February to 12 February 2021, a number of interesting online events will take place. TU Wien Bibliothek recommends the following events:
Brown University Library offers an English-language workshop on 10 February 2021 (15.00 - 16.00 EST = 21:00 - 22:00 CET) :
- “Introduction to Using OpenRefine Software for Cleaning Your Data”. Kelsey Sawyer, Biomedical & Life Sciences Librarian and one of the Brown University Library’s certified Carpentries Instructors, will lead an introductory workshop on using OpenRefine software to clean data. No experience using the software is required. Download the open source software in advance for free from OpenRefine.org.
German-language workshops we recommend are:
- On 09 February 2021 (11:00 - 12:00), Frauke Ziedorn of Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) Hannover will give advice on making your research data available to the community in her lecture "Forschungsdaten & Open Access - so publizieren Sie Ihre Daten".
- On 11 February 2021 (14:00 - 15:00), Lena Dreher will discuss the legal requirements for research data in projects funded by the EU Commission in her lecture "Open Data in EU-Projekten". The legal text is broken down into individual components, so that project coordinators learn what requirements they need to fulfil at which point. Lena Dreher is responsible for the OpenAIRE project at the National Open Access Desk Germany.
These events require no previous knowledge of open science. Registration is not required. The room will be opened a few minutes before the start of the event. The URL for participating is: https://meet.gwdg.de/b/jes-dwc-6zq, opens an external URL in a new window
