JASEC coordinator receives City of Vienna award for volunteering

The motto of TU Wien, "Technology for People," is something JASEC coordinator Tom embodies not only in his professional life. On Dec. 3, he was awarded the "Helper of Vienna Award 2024" for outstanding services to the population of Vienna for his voluntary work in the field of emergency and disaster communication.

In his professional life, Tom is coordinator at JASEC, responsible for the scientific exchange with Japan. Additionally, he is the in-house coordinator for the Disaster Competence Network Austria at TU Wien. As a volunteer he serves as deputy head of the Vienna Emergency Communications team for the City of Vienna. In this capacity he has been awarded with the "Helfer Wiens Preis 2024" by Mayor Michael Ludwig.
