The COVID19 opening regulation of the Ministry of Health, which has been in force since 19 May, decrees gradual openings for our private and professional everyday life. The Rectorate has evaluated the TUW's internal security regulations on the basis of this legal foundation and is updating its access regulations from 02 June 2021. The basic prerequisite is compliance with our proven and well-known security precautions. The linchpin is also the status definition of persons who pose a low epidemiological risk, whereby the "3-G rule" applies: vaccinated, tested, recovered.

What do you need to keep in mind on campus?

For your everyday office life, the following rule of thumb applies until further notice: If more than 1 person is present in the office, all persons of these groups or teams must be able to prove 1 G each. If none of the 3 Gs apply to at least one of these persons, all colleagues are obliged to wear the FFP2 mask at the workplace.

Meetings

For meetings at the TUW, there is no restriction on the number of participants if the meeting room is sufficiently large and the 2 m distance is therefore maintained. Under this condition, the FFP2 mask can also be waived, provided that all participants can prove that they have 1G. If you invite external guests to meetings at the TUW, please inform them of the 3 G rule and make sure that their access is registered by you in TISS under Organisation/Guest Access (TUW login required).

3-G proof of status

Please provide your personal proof of status as you routinely do outside TUW, e.g. in service, cultural or catering establishments.

1. Vaccinated

The yellow vaccination certificate, a vaccination card and a printout of the data from the e-vaccination certificate (ELGA) are valid as proof of vaccination. The following validity periods result from the data contained:

• Immunisation by two partial vaccinations: From the 22nd day after the first vaccination, the vaccination certificate is valid for 3 months. After receiving the second vaccination, the validity of the vaccination certificate is extended to 9 months.
• Immunisation by one vaccination: From the 22nd day after vaccination with only one dose, the proof of vaccination is valid for 9 months.
• Immunisation by vaccination of convalescents: Provided that a positive molecular biological test for SARS-CoV-2 was available at least 21 days prior to vaccination, or proof of neutralising antibodies is already available at the time of vaccination, the proof of vaccination is already valid for 9 months from the time of the first vaccination.

2. Tested

• PCR test is valid 72 h from sample collection (e.g. "Alles gurgelt").
• Antigen test from an authorised body is valid for 48 h from sample collection (e.g. pharmacy, test lane)
• Self-test recorded in an official data processing system is valid for 24 h

3. Recovery

• Certificate of segregation or medical confirmation of a molecularly confirmed infection
• Evidence of neutralising antibodies (3 months from test date)

What applies as before?

• Mandatory reporting of COVID-19 suspicions/illnesses among employees or students.
• QR code scan: compulsory QR code registration when entering TUW buildings
• At least 2 metres safety distance
• FFP2 mask mandatory in all public areas at TUW
• Hygiene: Regular hand and surface disinfection
• Events: The distance and FFP2 mask requirement applies in TUW representation rooms. For persons of a common household (e.g. families at academic celebrations) the 2 m distance does not apply.
• Opening hours: The TU Wien buildings are open Monday to Saturday from 06:00 to 20:00. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Study and teaching

Research

The routine in the field that staff members have acquired during the past months in research operations is being continued. From June, increased presence in laboratories or workshops will now be possible. Security measures will remain in place.
