Online Expert Talk with Madeleine Müller: Responsible AI - Between Innovation, Regulation and Ethical Responsibility

Other

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming our world – and with it, the responsibilities we bear as a society, as businesses and as leaders. Responsible AI is not merely a trend, but a guiding principle for the future and for leadership that will have a lasting impact on organizations, industries and societal developments.

This talk focuses on the intersections between technological innovation, regulatory frameworks and ethical challenges. The EU AI Act serves as a key point of reference: it shapes the development of AI in Europe and sets out specific requirements. However, Responsible AI goes far beyond this – it is about accountability, transparency and the sustainable design of AI systems.

Dr. Madeleine Müller, BA, MU is a senior researcher and senior consultant at the Research Institute – Digital Human Rights Center in Vienna. She studied law and philosophy at the University of Vienna and at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and completed a Master’s degree in Political Philosophy at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona. At the Research Institute, she is conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersection of law and ethics, with a focus on digital human rights, data protection law, artificial intelligence, platform regulation and the rights of affected persons. Additionally, she is an external lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland.

In her Expert Talk, Madeleine Müller will address the following topics, amongst others:

  • Responsible AI as a guiding principle: How can organizations integrate AI into decision-making processes in a responsible and ethically sound manner?
  • AI Literacy and competencies required in organizations: How can organizations ensure that employees have sufficient expertise to work with AI and assess its implications?
  • Industries in Transition: AI in Infrastructure & Technology: What specific impacts does AI have on various sectors – and how can companies respond proactively?
