Aspiring Leaders - why the first 100 days as a leader are particularly important
Open Forum
What actually makes a good leader? Is it visionary action? Sophisticated strategic thinking or "just" charisma? A universal answer is unlikely to be found; leadership is always an individual topic with many facets. What is clear, however, is that a good leader should not only have professional expertise, but above all the right mindset.
With the new concept "the value chain of leadership" Univ. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Güttel and Dr. Astrid Kleinhanns-Rollé shed light on the different dimensions, which are all equally relevant & influential in the cosmos of good leadership: Execution (Priorities, Assigning, Tracking), Engagement (Energizing, Connecting, Encouraging) and Enhancement (Individual Development, Team Development and Organizational Development). The three EEEs combine professional skills with conceptual-strategic thinking and the appropriate mindset, which should be lived holistically.
Especially for aspiring leaders, having the right mindset keeps them looking at the big picture. The danger of getting lost in details is cushioned. By harmonizing the EEE dimensions, the leadership power train really gets going; especially for the first 100 days in a leadership position, this can make the essential difference and bring team leaders, as well as employees, together sustainably.
During our Expert Talks on May 9, 2023, Prof. Güttel & Dr. Kleinhanns-Rollé will discuss the concept of value chain of leadership with Eileen Langegger, student of the Executive MBA Strategic Management & Technology, based on practical experiences.
An exciting topic for all interested parties who want to develop leadership competencies and get to know a new concept of leadership as an agile tool for successful companies.
