Business and investments in the space sector are rapidly growing. Whether it’s research stations, orbital facilities or habitats on the Moon or Mars:living and working in space are near-term goals that are already generating multiple opportunities on earth. Emerging technologies and solutions for the extreme conditions in space can also be applied to challenges here on earth. in the Framework of the Executive MBA Space Architecture TU Wien Academy for Continuing Education together with the Research Unit of Building Construction and Design 2 is organising a series of virtual innovation talk in the field of the space architeture.

As the first Mr. Georgi Petrov (SOM New York)  will give a talk about the orbital & surface habiat architecture online.

Georgi Petrov is a practicing architect, structural engineer and space architect. He is a Senior Associate Principal in the structures group at the New York office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, where he works on highrises and long span structures around the world.  He is the leader of SOM’s space architecture endeavors.  He is an adjunct professor at NYU and MIT where he teaches Design of Tall Buildings and the vice-chair of the AIAA’s Space Architecture Technical Committee.
