The Technische Universität Wien is collaborating with HANDS UP, an interactive experience exhibition in Vienna, until the end of March 2026. The exhibition offers visitors an impressive insight into the world of deaf people.

During guided tours led by deaf guides, you will immerse yourself in a world without spoken language and experience firsthand how communication works through facial expressions, body language, and sign language. The exhibition raises awareness, encourages a shift in perspective, and strengthens understanding of diversity and accessibility.

Your benefit as TU Wien staff and/or student

  • -25 % discount on the regular ticket price
  • for bookings made until the end of march
  • valid for visits until July 3

What awaits you:

  • What does it feel like to hear nothing?
  • What barriers do deaf people face in everyday life?
  • How do you communicate when you don’t speak the same language?
  • What do facial expressions and body language convey?
  • Why are sign languages not international?

The exhibition raises awareness for different life realities, encourages new ways of thinking about barriers, and fosters a deeper understanding of inclusive communication.

This cooperation supports TU Wien’s strategic goals in the areas of diversity, inclusion, and social responsibility.
