The Bioprocess Technology Working Group at TU Wien is one of the leading destinations for biotech research in Europe. We are always looking for competent students and employees for strengthening our young and vibrant team.

Due to our close collaborations with industrial partners, most projects are focused on highly relevant industrial applications, yet in-depth theoretical topics related to bioprocess development are addressed. Besides gaining a deep understanding of bioprocess and biotechnology, students will have the chance to participate in challenging projects of the biotech industry.

A cornerstone of our philosophy consists of improving product quality based on increased process understanding. Therefore, characterization of bioprocesses on a physiological level is a central aspect of our work. This goal is achieved by the implementation of information mining strategies, development of novel control strategies based on implementation of Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) and Quality by Design (QbD) approaches.

Often, there is also the chance to complete a practical internship in our group, in which you can gather project-related experiences, such as performing fermentations, implementing novel analytical technologies, or developing data processing strategies.
