Research Division Organic and Biological Chemistry

The research division “Organic and Biological Chemistry” consists of five research groups working in areas such as biological chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biocatalysis, asymmetric synthesis, sustainable chemistry, lab on a chip, carbohydrate chemistry, organic reaction development, and various aspects of catalysis. More than 60 researchers drive innovation at the highest level in these aforementioned subjects, taking advantage of state-of-the-art facilities matching the opportunities of institutions of the highest reputation. A key aspect of our research is always the aim to tackle the most pressing problems of society, and hence a strong focus on human health and sustainable methods are within the DNA of our division. For more detailed information, visit the webpages of our individual research groups, which are always open to discuss new project ideas with partners from academia and industry alike.
