Collaborative Teaching and Research Project
We are doing the next steps in the direction of compatibility, resilience & working structure for the future!
Let's go tugether!
The “Collaborative Teaching and Research” project builds on the existing Parent Implementation initiative and supports the development of structural measures to promote a family-friendly and collaborative teaching and working culture. In 2026, the focus lies on establishing sustainable collaborative teaching structures and integrating them into institutional processes over the long term. In the following year, the emphasis will shift to collaborative research.
Collaborative teaching refers to the cooperation of multiple instructors within a specific course, where expertise is shared with the aim of improving the quality of teaching. This involves not only coordinating topics and ideas, but also developing a joint teaching concept, a unified didactic approach, and shared responsibility for learning outcomes and the student experience. Exams, assignments, and laboratory work are jointly assessed based on an agreed evaluation framework.
Specifically, two or more instructors agree on a common concept and work together as equals to achieve the objectives defined in the curriculum. Collaborative teaching therefore goes beyond simple substitution or division of tasks. By understanding each other’s subject matter, instructors can ideally support, represent, or replace one another. This reduces dependence on individual staff members and ensures a consistent and coherent learning experience for students.
The “Collaborative Teaching and Research” project is implemented within the FemChem team. The project team includes Noelia Barrabés, Raquel de Oro Calderon, Anne Kasper-Giebl, Maricruz Sánchez Sánchez, as well as external organizational expert Marita Haas and student assistant Patrizia Grausgruber.
