Prof. Gärtner on the subject of course assessment

The Dean of Studies relies on the assessments of students who have participated in a course in order to evaluate them. However, the assessment is only one small aspect. Of course, comments on courses are especially important for the lecturers themselves. It is only by receiving feedback on how the participants found the course that the lecturer has the opportunity to make subsequent changes for the next academic year. The best possible way to capture a representative opinion is for all participants in a course to submit an assessment. Believe me, lecturers love to receive praise too, if there’s anything you particularly liked about the course.
