
Manufacturing and Robotics (Master)
The Master’s programme in Manufacturing and Robotics provides comprehensive and in-depth knowledge in the fields of robotics, automation and industrial engineering. Key areas of study include the structure, kinematics and dynamics of robotic systems, as well as their programming, simulation and control. In addition, the programme covers modern production processes, industrial engineering, and the development and system integration of robot-assisted applications. Another key focus is on the development of safe and human-centred human-machine interactions. Students learn to apply technical and scientific methods independently, analyse complex systems and develop innovative solutions for a range of requirements in industrial production.

The Master's programme Manufacturing and Robotics consists of the following examination subjects with their associated modules.
- Technical Basics (45,0 ECTS): You must complete at least 45 ECTS from the following modules:
- Additive Manufacturing (9,0 ECTS), Assistance Systems (9,0 ECTS), Fundamentals of Robotics (9,0 ECTS), Manufacturing Systems (9,0 ECTS), Materials Engineering (9,0 ECTS), Mechatronic Systems (9,0 ECTS), Programming and Simulation (9,0 ECTS), Humans and Robots in Manufacturing (9,0 ECTS), Robot Vision (9,0 ECTS), Robot Challenge (9,0 ECTS).
- Specialisation (15 ECTS): Within this module, you need to complete courses totalling at least 15 ECTS.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship (21 ECTS): Within this module, you need to complete courses totalling at least 21 ECTS.
- Free Electives and Transferable Skills (9 ECTS)
- Diploma Thesis (30 ECTS)
Further Information
Admission to the Master’s programme in ‘Manufacturing and Robotics’ is possible after completing an eligible Bachelor’s degree at an accredited national or international post-secondary educational institution. To compensate for fundamental subject-specific differences between your previous education and the level of qualifications expected at TU Wien, supplementary examinations totalling a maximum of 30 ECTS credits may be required.

Thanks to their knowledge of the structure, kinematics, dynamics, programming, simulation and control of robotic systems, they are qualified to take on challenging technical tasks throughout the entire life cycle of automated production facilities.
Potential career paths include the development, programming and integration of robotic systems, the planning and optimisation of automated production processes, and roles in technical project and innovation management. In addition, graduates can take on roles in the fields of system integration, application development, production technology, industrial engineering, and research and development.
