The Extended Study on Innovation is a one-year international curriculum providing a premium, hands-on education on intra- and entrepreneurship for TU Wien students. The programme fosters innovation thinking and offers a solid education and network for entrepreneurial spirits, business developers and/or innovation managers. This additional qualification will enhance your job prospect in research and industry and will prepare you for an entrepreneurial life. The Extended Study on Innovation is a part-time programme offered in English in parallel to the study programs of TU Wien. Only a limited number of students is accepted every year, enabling them to individually apply the content learned to real projects, and get individual and personalised support and mentorship from experts.

The modules of the Innovation programme provide students with additional qualifications in areas such as entrepreneurship, innovation management, and research transfer:

• Innovation and Creativity (7 ECTS)

As a prerequisite for enrolling in the first module, students must demonstrate both excellent progress in their master's studies and a strong interest in innovation. The module covers topics such as innovation theory and innovation management, with a particular emphasis on the importance of innovation for business and society.

• Innovation and Planning (6 ECTS)

Upon completion of this module, students will be able to develop business plans and critically discuss selected innovation strategies and implementation plans.

• Innovation and Implementation (6 ECTS)

The third module focuses on the implementation of innovative ideas and addresses practical aspects—particularly legal, financial, and social considerations—that are often critical to the successful realization of a business idea.

• Innovation in Practice (11 ECTS)

As the final component of the programme, students work on the practical implementation of an innovative project.

Admission to the English-taught extended study programme in Innovation requires one of the following:

• Completion of a regular master's degree programme at TU Wien; or
• Current enrollment in a regular master's degree programme at TU Wien; or
• Current enrollment in a regular bachelor's degree programme at TU Wien, provided that the student has already successfully completed courses applicable toward that bachelor's degree totaling at least 120 ECTS credits.

In addition, applicants must demonstrate fundamental knowledge and skills in the fields of programming and business administration.
