The Extended Study Programme in Digital Skills provides a solid, research-informed and methodologically rigorous foundation in digital competencies, designed to foster lasting knowledge and practical expertise. For graduates of TU Wien's bachelor's programmes, these skills are of fundamental importance, equipping you to meet the demands of modern professional practice with confidence and ensuring your competitiveness in an international environment.

In particular, you will acquire sound skills in the following areas:

• General basics of digitalisation: being able to discuss and critically question fundamental concepts of digitalisation
• Computer science basics of digitalisation: Develop basic understanding of computer science concepts such as algorithms, information models, data and visualization as well as technical basics of information systems
• Digital transformation in fields of application: Recognising the potential of digitisation in the field of application of the respective major studies and implementing corresponding concepts

Furthermore, through the theoretical and practical study of relevant methods, you will develop the ability to evaluate the potential of digital transformation across a wide range of research and application domains. You will also be equipped to design innovative, future-oriented systems that harness the opportunities offered by digital transformation.

This programme is open to bachelor students of all study programmes offered at TU Wien. However, students in the field of informatics are excluded, as these skills are already taught in the course of their regular studies. Admission to the extended study programme “Digital Skills” requires either the completion of a regular Bachelor's degree at TU Wien, or admission to a regular Bachelor's degree programme at TU Wien that is not in Informatics.
