  • Minimum language requirement: TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5 if English is NOT the medium of instruction at TU Wien.
Exchange spots

Grant amount
  • € 378,-/month + € 870,- lump sum for travel costs
Miscellaneous
  • No tuition fees.
  • Courses in English offered in Bachelor and Master's Programmes.
  • For studies in Master's Programmes, an individual agreement is required.
  • Exchange students must take full-time credit-unit load, i.e., a minimum of 12 Crédit Units (maximum 18 Crédit Units) per semester, in order to meet the visa requirements set by the Hong Kong SAR Immigration.
    For your information: 2 ECTS credits are equivalent to approximately 1 Crédit Unit.
  • Course Load: The exchange programme is conducted with the “College of Engineering” at City University of Hong Kong. A minimum of 12–18 Crédit Units per semester, of which at least 9 must be taken at the College of Engineering.
  • Course Selection: Primarily within the College of Engineering; 3–9 credit units outside the College are possible (subject to approval by the respective department).
  • Important for Master’s students: Master’s courses are often available only on a limited basis, may require prior knowledge or prerequisites, and require a separate approval by the department.
