Erasmus+ project for Open Science Training

TU Wien participates in the development of a joint training programme to strengthen Open Science and research data management.

A plenary session of the Erasmus+ project TrainRDM, opens an external URL in a new window took place at the National College of Ireland from 10 to11 November 2021. TU Wien is one of the six project partners; the coordination is carried out by the Politehnica University of Bucharest.

Scope of the project

TrainRDM aims to strengthen Open Science through the use of innovative methods and tools, and in particular to provide training in research data management. Great attention is also paid to qualifications requirements. In detail, the following activities and outputs were defined within the consortium:

  • Analysis and mapping of the needs and skills for Open Science (OS) and research data management (RDM) in existing curricula of partner institutions (taking into account different target groups and levels of existing knowledge)
  • Review of existing and best practices in OS and RDM skills training
  • evelopment of a methodological toolkit for OS and RDM training
  • Implementation of a pilot OS and RDM training programme for trainers and students
  • Development of a training network
  • Promote, motivate, support and recognise the competence development of staff and students in OS and RDM
