This work package focuses on the selection and investigation of historical copper samples from architectural and artisanal contexts. The materials are studied in their original state, including naturally formed patinas, as well as after conservation treatments. These analyses provide valuable insights into long-term material behaviour, historical craftsmanship, and the diversity of corrosion phenomena.

Historical copper sheets with variable patina formation

A stack of used copper sheets shows varying stages of natural patina formation, from reddish-brown to greenish surfaces. The samples come from architectural or craft contexts and illustrate the variety of changes caused by corrosion.
