Researcher in Control Engineering (PreDoc)

We are looking for young scientists to expand our team at the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics in the research area of control engineering and process automation. We offer an interesting and challenging research position as a project assistant (with the possibility of a dissertation) on the research topic "Intermodal modelling of traffic flows and interactions". All modes of transport are to be considered and the influence of the settlement area is to be mapped using stochastic methods and methods of data-based modelling and parameter identification. The aim is to develop an easily interpretable simulation model from available measurement data that can be used to formulate sustainable mobility measures.

Your Areas of Responsibility

  • Research and project activity in research topic on intermodal transport modelling
  • Writing publications and participating in scientific events
  • Supervision of students and assistance in university teaching
  • Collaboration in organisational and administrative tasks

Your Profile

  • Completed (or advanced) relevant undergraduate (MSc-level) university studies, e.g. mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering or mechatronics
  • Advanced knowledge of the subject area: analytical and data-based modelling, parameter identification, simulation; basics of scientific work
  • Interest in research in the subject area and in working with students
  • High level of motivation and commitment; goal-oriented and structured way of working
  • Ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate

For the advertised position (full-time), the collective agreement tariff for project assistants, salary group B 1, § 49 (3) KV applies. The advertised position is subject to a minimum basic salary of EUR 3,058.60 gross per month (full-time equivalent).
