The 60th CIRP Conference on Manufacturing Systems (CIRP CMS 2027, opens an external URL in a new window) will take place from 12–14 May 2027 in Vienna, Austria. Hosted by TU Wien in cooperation with Fraunhofer Austria, opens an external URL in a new window, the conference will serve as an international platform for presenting and discussing the latest scientific and industrial advances in manufacturing systems and production engineering.

As part of the internationally recognized CIRP conference series, CMS 2027 will bring together researchers, technology developers, and industrial practitioners from around the world to exchange knowledge on future-oriented manufacturing concepts and technologies. The conference will address topics such as smart and connected manufacturing systems, AI-driven production and decision support, sustainable and resilient manufacturing, digital transformation, human-centered production, industrial data spaces, circular economy approaches, production logistics, and advanced automation technologies.

Special emphasis will be placed on the integration of emerging digital technologies into industrial value creation processes, including artificial intelligence, digital twins, robotics, and data-driven optimization methods. IFAC INCOM 2024

The 18th IFAC Symposium on Information Control Problems in Manufacturing (INCOM 2024, opens an external URL in a new window) took place from 28–30 August 2024 in Vienna, Austria. As one of the flagship conferences of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), the symposium brought together leading international researchers, industry experts, and practitioners working in the fields of manufacturing systems, automation, production management, and industrial digitalization. The conference was organized by the TU Wien together with Fraunhofer Austria, opens an external URL in a new window.

Held under the theme “Sustainable Transformation towards Autonomous Manufacturing Systems”, the conference focused on current scientific and industrial challenges related to smart manufacturing and the future of production. Key topics included artificial intelligence in manufacturing, autonomous and adaptive production systems, cyber-physical systems, digital twins, industrial data analytics, human-centered manufacturing, robotics, logistics, sustainability, and resilient supply and production networks.

INCOM 2024 provided a highly interdisciplinary platform for exchanging innovative research results, industrial experiences, and future perspectives on Industry 4.0 and beyond.
