Admission to the Master’s programme requires the completion of a subject-relevant Bachelor’s programme or another subject-relevant program of at least the same educational level at a recognized domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution.

Subject-relevant Bachelor`s programmes

The following Bachelor's programmes at Technische Universität Wien and Technische Universität Graz are subject-relevant: 

• Mechanical Engineering (UE 033 245)
• Mechanical Engineering - Management (UE 033 282)  

Graduates of these two degree programmes at the universities mentioned above meet the qualitative academic admission requirements as part of their bachelor’s degree programme.

Qualitative Admission Requirements

For admission to the Master’s programme in Aeronautical Engineering, applicants whose Bachelor’s degree programme is not explicitly listed as subject-relevant must fulfil the following qualitative admission requirements. In total, applicants must submit evidence of having completed courses amounting to at least 50,0 ECTS from the listed areas of specialization. 

The minimum number of ECTS credits for each specialization is listed below: 

• 7,0 ECTS in the field of Statics and Strength of Materials,
• 7,0 ECTS in the field of Dynamics,
• 3,0 ECTS in the field of Fundamentals of Engineering Design,
• 6,0 ECTS in the field of Machine Design,
• 4,0 ECTS in the field of Fluid Mechanics,
• 4,0 ECTS in the field of Thermodynamics,
• 6,0 ECTS in the field of Materials Science of Metallic and Non-metallic Materials,
• 5,0 ECTS as part of Engineering Design Exercises. 

For the ECTS credits required to reach a total of 50,0 ECTS, fundamental courses in aeronautical engineering can be considered. The required documentation of the relevant courses must be submitted at the time of application. The assessment of the academic suitability of these courses and achievements is carried out by the academic affairs body. The admission process is conducted exclusively through the Admission Office.
