On May 12, 2026, approximately 40 female mathematicians attended the “Paths in Maths” event, including Bachelor, Master, and doctoral students.

The event began with a presentation by Stefanie Madsen. She outlined the various support options available to female doctoral students during their studies at TU Wien. This was followed by short presentations by four successful female mathematicians, who spoke about their career paths and provided insights into their current work. Two speakers discussed their careers in academia, while the other two shared their experiences in industry. The diversity of professions and career paths highlighted the broad spectrum of possible future opportunities for the participants.

Following the presentations, the participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the female mathematicians, ask further questions, and network with the other participants.
