SFB-PDE-Workshop successfully completed

International researchers from different communities came together in this application-oriented workshop to better understand practical and theoretical issues of random PDEs.

The workshop "High-dimensional methods in stochastic and multiscale PDEs", organised by Michael Feischl (TU Wien), Julian Fischer (ISTA) and Vladimir Kazeev (University of Vienna) within the Vienna SFB "Taming Complexity in Partial Differential Systems", successfully brought together experts in high-dimensional approximation for PDEs, stochastic PDEs, and multiscale problems. Held at TUtheSky from September 30th to October 2nd, 2024, the workshop featured presentations by renowned speakers including Christoph Schwab, Federico Cornalba, Robert Scheichl, Yalchin Efendiev, Barbara Verfürth, Martin Eigel, Jakob Zech, and Daniel Peterseim. Attendees engaged in discussions on the latest advancements in the field, with topics ranging from neural operators and multilevel Monte Carlo methods to multicontinuum homogenization and quantum realization of the finite element method. The workshop fostered a productive exchange of ideas and collaboration among established and upcoming researchers.
