Publishing open access at Elsevier, RSC und Wiley

TU Wien Bibliothek has negotiated a wide range of open access publishing options for TU Wien researchers for 2021.

TU Wien corresponding authors can now also publish their (peer-reviewed) articles free of charge in subscription journals of Elsevier from 2021.

Transformative agreements with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Wiley have been extended. The agreements are valid for the publications of the next 3 years. The requirements and workflows of the publishers are kept up-to-date on our website.

Publishing in gold open access journals

You can publish free of charge in Elsevier Journals in 2021. Payment is made directly via TU Wien Bibliothek. For a simplified process of publishing in gold open access journals, our open access agreements with publishers and our publications fund are also available as before.

Open access means making quality controlled scientific literature freely available. If a Creative Commons licence is applied, the articles can be reused.

There are different types of open access:

Publishing your article in an open access medium ("gold open access")
Paying for open access for an article in a subscription journal ("hybrid open access")
Secondary publication as a freely accessible publication in a repository ("green open access")
