Children’s University 2026 at TU Wien Bibliothek

From 13 July to 16 July 2026, TU Wien Bibliothek welcomed young researchers from KinderuniTechnik for two workshops.

The workshop "Library 2.0" gave participants aged 10 to 12 a glimpse into the digital transformation of a research library. The 15 square metre 3D video wall in the Data Visualisation Space was a highlight for many, and the children could also test our new book scanner for digitization projects.

The second workshop, "DIY Leporello", took 7 to 9-year-olds into the mysterious corners of the library. After using a map to hunt for our most exquisite treasures – books – the children created their own concertina books to take home.

As every year, it was a joy to welcome so many highly motivated and interested children (and possible future students) to TU Wien Bibliothek.
