General Information

Non-Degree Program means that students will stay enrolled at the home university (TU Wien) and only complete parts of their education or research at the host university in Japan. Depending on the program credits will be awarded by the host university which can be converted to ECTS credits and may be accepted by the dean of studies as equivalent to regular or elective courses. However, the final degree (MSc, PhD) will be awarded by the home university (TU Wien).

As the conversion of credits may be difficult sometimes and only a limited number of courses will be available in English language, candidates with a research focus will be preferred. The research in Japan will be in most cases related to Master- or Doctor Thesis.

To apply for one of the listed scholarships the applicants must be officially enrolled at TU Wien for at least 2 years and provide a consolidated grade record with an average grade of 2.5 or better. As the available number of outgoing students is limited, Master or PhD students are preferred.
