Do you know of any abandoned or obviously unused bicycles on campus?
As part of this campaign, you can report and document such bikes. The goal is to get an overview of long-term parked “abandoned bicycles” and improve the use of bike parking spaces on campus.
How it works:
Through the reporting form, you can upload the location and a photo of the bicycle by June 2.
Guidelines:
- Only report bicycles located at TU Wien sites
- Only document the condition of the bicycle
- A photo from the surroundings is sufficient, as long as the bike is clearly visible
- Please indicate the location as precisely as possible (e.g. building, row of bike racks, landmarks, etc.)
- Do not damage or manipulate any bicycles
- Only report bicycles that are clearly unused for a longer period of time
- All participants qualify for the preliminary round to win the grand prize. (To receive a prize, you must be present at the final event.)
Photo notice: Photographs will be displayed during the event.
Do you know of any places on campus where cycling conditions could be improved?
Are there any missing or inadequate bike parking spaces, disruptive barriers, or other obstacles to cycling at TU Wien? Do you know of any locations where there is space for additional bike parking facilities? If so, please share your observations with us and send us a photo of the relevant locations.
Your feedback helps us identify barriers, prioritize measures effectively, and systematically improve cycling mobility at TU Wien. All submitters qualify for the preliminary round to win the grand prize.
Here’s how it works
Use the submission form to upload a photo showing the location related to your suggestion for improvement. Please also provide context for your photo in the text field.
Participation until June 3, 3:00 PM (also possible on-site)

FAQ
Bike Day
June 3, the European Day of the Bicycle, draws attention to increasing traffic congestion and highlights the bicycle as a sustainable alternative mode of transport. Since 2018, this day has also been officially recognized as a UN awareness day.
The goal is to strengthen awareness of the bicycle as an environmentally friendly, healthy, and cost-efficient means of transport. In light of growing traffic density, promoting cycling is becoming increasingly important, including through continuous investment in cycling infrastructure.
Who is Bike Day for?
Bike Day is aimed at all members of TU Wien, including students and staff. Whether you are a daily cyclist, an occasional rider, or simply curious—everyone is invited to learn more, take part, and rediscover cycling.
Why is TU Wien participating?
With cycleFIT, we actively promote sustainable mobility. Bike Day offers an opportunity to make cycling more visible as an environmentally friendly, healthy, and space-saving mode of transport and to further support it on campus.
How can I win the prize?
This prize consists of the right to use the cycleFIT bicycle for a period of 5 years. To participate, you must take part in the “TU Bike Rally” activity and submit your photos via the submission form. In addition, attendance at the final on-site event is required. Only active TU Wien students and employees are eligible to participate.
