The year 2022 was themed "Sustainability". At the TU Vienna Science Center, there was the opportunity to participate in guided tours as well as to visit TU Vienna scientists at their booths and engage in hands-on experiments.

As part of the international research project CLUE, opens in new window, we were on-site with a booth focused on the topic of energy communities and the interactive tool BIFROST., opens an external URL in a new window

BIFROST is a narrative smart grid simulation tool for researching, developing, and presenting projects related to settlements, communities, and city districts that must face the challenges of the climate crisis. It offers simulation management and creative tools for quickly exploring various scenarios with the aim of simplifying their complexity and presenting technological solutions in a straightforward and concise manner. It promotes the collaboration of various stakeholder groups in decision-making processes and enables integrative discussions between different fields of expertise.

Visitors were playfully given the opportunity to try out the tool directly on-site and to track the changes (planning and placing new buildings, effects of photovoltaics, battery storage, and electromobility, etc. on energy consumption) live.

The visitors were thrilled with the booth and the explanations from our team.
