Conventional industrial BioFETs and ISFETs are limited to high detection concentrations, whereas in the envisioned nanowire geometry percolation paths are hindered by a full depletion of the sensor channel.

Here we propose a nanoelectronic sensor, which should perform fast and cost-efficient tests vs. state-of-the-art methods.

By coupling different device regions in a parallel nanowire device the detection range shall be extended.

We will capitalize on experimental clean room technology at Center for Micro- and Nanotechnology (CMNS) to construct very sensitive nanowire sensor devices and test them as novel biosensors.
